Getting ready to say goodbye to June, and I’m wondering where all the time has gone! It seems as if the year flew right by.. Nonetheless, I’m happy to welcome July as summer has only begun — and when you live on the coast, summer truly is the most magical season!
Around this time every year, I can’t help but daydream about travel, vacation, and adventure. And considering that almost every summer for the last 10 or so years consisted of a move, it feels only natural to be dreaming up our next big (and super exciting) one! With that said, I am so excited to announce that our next big move will be to the big island, Hawaii!! Just saying that brings a great amount of euphoria to my heart. Moving to Hawaii is something that we’ve talked about off and on over the last few years, but it wasn’t until recently that the idea became less of an idea and more of a substantial decision — and nearly a daily subject of ours!
A few things of note:
- We do plan on making Hawaii our forever home (no more moves, yay!).
We thought St. Augustine would be our home for at least the next 5-10 years, however, we feel that we outgrew it pretty quick. And being one who thoroughly enjoys landscape photography, I feel it’s important to live somewhere that constantly inspires you. While St. Augustine is beautiful, it just doesn’t feed my soul as much as I’d hoped for. It leaves me craving more… More cliffs, more mountains, more sunsets on the beach, more variety!
We’ve had so many ups and downs, firsts, and beautiful moments in our time here, so I can’t say that I regret moving here. St. Augustine has been a move of growth.. a beautiful one at that.
We’re not moving tomorrow! It will take some time to plan out, and we intend on taking all the time we need to thoroughly plan this one out. Unlike our other moves (which happened within months, sometimes weeks), we’re going to take about a year to plan this move. We still have our house to sell, a new house to buy, research on how to best get our fur boys there, and deciding which area will be best for our family and lifestyle.
Although it won’t be for some time, I am already so soo excited to get there and explore! I’d love to hear about some of your upcoming adventures! What, at the moment, is making you feel excited?
